Since 2002, the Committee has continued to meet twice annually to oversee the Dredged Material Management Program of the Maryland Port Administration. As required under the Act, the Committee reported to the General Assembly on the strategic long-term management plans for dredged materials on December 31, 2002. In December 2001, the Committee submitted its report to the General Assembly on implementation of Chapter 627, Acts of 2001. The Committee works to develop a program that is effective economically and environmentally sound. The development of State plans to manage dredged material from the Port of Baltimore is overseen by the Committee. In October 2001, the Executive Committee for Dredged Material Management Plans was formed by the General Assembly (Chapter 627, Acts of 2001).
